Cymbals Eat Guitars...yeah, they're better than their name implies

This was a last.fm recommendation that proved very much worth my while. A smooth combination of Deerhunter, The Horrors, The Big Pink, and maybe a little bit of The Wrens on the side. They also have a horn section (+1 to their indietastic score) and an 8.3 review from Pitchfork for their debut album Why There Are Mountains (+20).

So yeah, hardly groundbreaking stuff, but the songwriting is superb IMO.

It's a solid album; I remember listening to it quite a bit when it first came out, but haven't much since. I'll have to pull it out to give it a listen again.
