I still haven't had a chance to buy my ticket yet. I was talking with my friends the other night and they agreed to go to a show with me, but one of them mentioned she'd like to go to Chicago, so I'm going to see if everyone's cool with that plan or with St. Paul. Then we'll kinda organize from there on out and, hopefully, after that I can start counting down to August .

Popmartijn, those pictures are amazing! I love the stage and all the colors, it looks beautiful. Glad you had a pretty good time overall.

And I agree-let's hear it for longer setlists .

Yeah, that too. The show was just a little over 90 minutes. That's very short for an arena show, especially if you have released 5 albums. A couple of songs more wouldn't have hurt, to have it at least 100 (but preferably 120+) minutes.

90 minutes? Fuck. That's ordinary. How much are tickets? I'll be hugely bummed if I pay $140ish again for a 90 minute set.

Truth. Even our cheap seats were more expensive than U2 GA. Hell, front row would cost you $450 since it's all VIP packages.

ETA. 6:45? Damn that's early!

Front row tickets are actually between the range of $800-$1000 apiece.

Three things that dislike about the live setting of Coldplay are:

- Most of their shows are seated, as opposed to a GA field.
- Their shows are very short, as mentioned above, just a little over 90 minutes long.
- They haven't released a live DVD since the Coldplay Live 2003 taped in Australia. It could be nice to have one from the X&Y tour and another one from Viva, they did mention that they were recording one at Vancouver during Viva, but they never released it.
- They cancel shows with only one day in advance, pissing off fans who flew more than 1000 miles to go and see them from other cities even from abroad, and the only vague reason is sickness.

I wouldn't even pay that much to be front row at a U2 concert.

I think my very excellent seated ticket (not on the floor) ran around $100ish.

What if I would throw in a cross-country flight, 10-hour car ride, overnight hotel stay, standing in line on a rainy day, and getting punched by an irritable Englishman once you get to the front row? Would that sweeten the deal for you?

I'm just bitter at the pricing for the LA shows. It was ridiculous.

Why is it more in LA? Is it due to the venue or something? That's totally assy that the prices would be different.

If I stopped to think about it, I probably did end up paying almost double for most of that experience (save for being punched or almost-punched).

.... oof. I just won't think about it.

I guess the Bowl is more expensive than Staples? But good non VIP tickets were $150 plus fees. And that gets you in the 3rd section back of boxes at best.
