Big Country - First Single in 11 years

Hi Guys.

As some of you will know, there was a massive amount
of respect between The Edge and Stuart Adamson.

Anyway, as a tribute to Stuart, Big Country has now reformed
and have released a new track.
It would be nice to see it chart, although this may be difficult
with the amount of brainwashing x-factor gabage in the charts.

First since the death of the late, great Stuart Adamson.
Now with Mike Peters (The Alarm) on vocals.

The new single is on Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Another-Coun...sbs_dmusic_t_1

and itunes
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/ano...le/id457862268

The new song and video can be viewed here:
Big Country - Another Country - YouTube

And for those who don't know what a great group they were
when Stuart was alive here are some links:

Wonderland:
Wonderland - YouTube

Chance:

Here is Ships, from The Buffalo Skinners album (1993)
Big Country - Ships (HQ) - YouTube

And Fragile Thing (feat Eddi Reader), which
is from Driving to Damacus (1999)
Big Country - Fragile Thing (HQ) - YouTube

Cheers everyone.

New user, and their first post is about another band.

The sales links make this look like spam.

Sorry guys. Not spam. No affilate links.
I'm just a U2 and Big Country fan.
The two bands use to have very close links together,
and sure there are still some older fans who love BC.

And yes, for those who don't know better, Big Country made more than one song.
In fact they made 5 brilliant albums:
The Crossing
Steeltown
The Seer
The Buffalo Skinners
Driving to Damacus

Maybe post about things unrelated to this and we might believe you.

I don't want to get into a slanging match.
I've seen both bands live several times and love them both.

As I say, both bands use to be very close and BC
went through an awful tragedy with the death of Stuart Adamson
and I thought some people here would want to know that
the band has come through that and is back in business.

"I always thought Stuart Adamson was an amazing guitar player.
He was inventive, but everything he did had venom"

That quote is from The Edge, and I'm sure he would
be happy to see the band back.

You have to understand that it's suspicious when a new user signs up and goes directly to the music subforum and begins his/her posting history by shilling for some other band.

Who gives a shit? Let the mods sort it out. We needed a Big Country thread anyway. Good band, although I have a difficult time bringing myself to care about a new single from a band whose original vocalist/lyricist is deceased. Beyond curiosity, anyway.

Muldfeld got to post. End of discussion.

As for Big Country, really dig The Crossing and some of their other earlier work (in fact, they make an appearance on the next DI for me). That's about it.

If the mods want to remove any links to the new single, then fine.
I'm happy enough just talking about the music and letting people decide
if BC's music is something they want to investigate further.

Another old live track called Lost Patrol (not Restless Natives as the caption states):

I liked the new single, a little cheesy, but I don't care. Big Country is one of my favorite bands ever, and this got me pretty excited all the same.

And for those who are/were saying Big Country had more than one song? They were a lot less popular in the states than elsewhere, but yes, not only is their debut album one of the best of all time (and I mean that sincerely), but their second album, Steeltown is even better, and even their third album is great.

Seriously, I love these guys sincerely. Whatever pretenses this thread was started on, I could not care less, I'm glad a thread exists, hopefully a few more wolves can join my wolfpack.

might have listened to the original and face to face's cover of TheOneSongPeople(MyselfIncluded)Know at work last week, at reasonably loud volumes.

otherwise, never really cared much.

i'm more skeptical of people posting without avatars than anything else.

I actually like the Face to Face cover more than the original, and I like the original quite a bit.
