Their debut album is indeed amazing. I think Lillywhite produced it, and i think i read somewhere that he stated it's among his favorite projects he was involved with.
It's really great from start to finish. They're incredible musicians, and Adamson was an amazing talent.

Going forward on this nostalgia trip with Mike Peters from the Alarm is a great fit. There's some video out there of Big Country playing "In a Big Country" with Peters on vocals, and it smokes.

Ok -
and for good measure, here's the Alarm doing the tune in 2007

Hope i get to see this tour - gonna be great. Acknowledging the significance of Adamson's absence, this is fun and hopefully showcases what incredible musicians the band is, and what an innovative and powerful songwriter SA was.

The tour has me depressed. I actually considered going to the UK so I could see them, but HA, yeah right.

Ugh this thread is irritating me. I should've started a Big Country thread ages ago like I'd always meant to.

Some of my favourite tracks, firstly: The Seer, which features Kate Bush.
The lyrics show what an amazing writer Adamson was.

And Flame of the West, a song about
Ronald Reagan's hypocrisy.

Lastly, a song called Alone, which was a hit in the UK in 1993.
It showed a change of style, to a more hard-rock sound.
