Withering Aughts

I had 24 hours notice to do this and about 4-5 actual hours to do it, but I'm pretty happy with it. Basically, it starts off with a bang, with the first 9 tracks being more rock-oriented, and then it gets a lot more mellow - that was just the flow I ended up being happy with. It's pretty mainstream, but whatever. These are just the tracks that I couldn't bare to cut - all that I can't leave behind, so to speak. A couple notes: 1. Sean Lennon's track is probably the only one you guys haven't heard a lot before; if I have one hope for this list, it's that Sean's track persuades you guys to give his album Friendly Fire a try. 2. I think Jane's Addiction's Just Because is one of the more underrated rock songs of the decade. I could comment on all of my picks, but you don't want to read, you want to listen. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Wow, 9th is higher than I thought I'd finish. I was prepping myself for a finish in dead last. I wonder who ranked me #1?

Also, I'm shocked bono_212's list was so low, I had that as my #1.

Okay. I wonder if a large difference in highest ranking and lowest will be common as the results go on. :hmm:

I think it's fair to say that is the case, as you can now see from the others that have followed.

We've certainly got varied opinions around here when more than one playlist has both a first AND last ranking.

Tommy Wiseau’s The Neighbors

di_tommyw.jpg

Concept:

"The Neighbors" is a sitcom consisting of relationship between a group of neighbors who live in an apartment building. The lead character is Charlie, the manager of the building. The tenants are a diverse group of personality of different ages and backgrounds constantly bringing their problems to Charlie and his secretary girlfiend Bebe. The character of Princess Penelope create commotion by seeing the ghost of her uncle Prince Charles. It is a fresh humorous look at human behavioe with different view points including plenty of surprises. The demographic is all inclusive.

Looks like the Top 3 is gonna have to wait until later tonight anyway now. I got interrupted with something here at work, and now I have to pick up my car at the garage.

We'll wrap this up later.

Ah, OK. I'll just have to go find something to do until then. Perhaps peruse EYKIW or the like.

Oh boy, I got KO'd right after the bell rang, huh?

Anyway, I'm interested to see who takes this top prize. All of the lists were really great this time around...I feel people keep getting better at putting together enjoyable mixes. DI 6 was great, too.

So it's down to LM, LMP and Phanan?

This is very true. People are simply getting better at it, and they seem to know what to look for. Ever seen the DI1 lists? They're hilarious.

:edge: The future is...better.

Besides Oneblood being so low (I had her list 2nd), this looks fairly close to how I ranked it. Really enjoyed the whole lists, for the most part, and even then, still found a couple of tracks to like on the others.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised by 1blood's placement. Was one of my favorites as well.

*guilt for no submitting on time*
