You haven't met anyone who doesn't love him, have you?

For one he cheated and beat his first wife. That's one reason.

If you don't believe this is true you are welcome to correct me.

lol. Contrary to how it may seem from my avatar, I'm not a crazy Lennon fan or anything. I was just surprised because I have seen most people only talk about Lennon in a good light... as opposed to Bono who gets regularly thrashed by every idiot on the intenet. But that's a different topic altogether.

Anyway, to be honest I also don't approve of Lennon's cheating ways and breaking up the band by having an affair with a Japanese artist from NYC. But I thought we are talking about the music here, not their personal lives.

But speaking about their personal life for a minute here, I have often wondered how/why Cynthia and Julian still talk about Lennon and pay tribute to him when he screwed them over like that!

Musically I'm pretty ambivalent towards Lennon, to be honest. I don't have much against Yoko.

I agree.

And that goes for The Beatles in general as well.

If you're talking about personal lives, Liam just cheated on his mrs with his PA hahaha

Liam has the voice, stage presence, and with Oasis had the tunes
some decent tunes with Beady Eye too. You go to see Oasis for him to sing Noel's tunes. You see Beady Eye to see Liam - the voice of a generation. No nonsense, no sucking up, staright talking legend

His voice is perfect for his music - he's no Freddie Mercury, but Liam plus his/Noel's tunes = perfection

Better than Bono, Lennon & anyone - and i like U2 and the Beatles

I'm sure at least 40% of the musicians you listen to are actually assholes.

Yeah, that goes without saying, but what I'm getting at is that Lennon's behaviour was absolutely awful and I don't quite think the assholes in my music collection have come close to him in that area.

If it counts for anything, every account I've come across swears that John was a very different person by the time of his death and took a number of great personal strides as a husband and a father. Maybe that matters to you, maybe it doesn't.

Why does it matter that she was a Japanese artist? I find it staggering that Lennon was in a loyal relationship/marriage with Cynthia for so long, given his liberalism and the millions of women who would have gladly spread their legs for him. But he did only marry (erroneously) because they had a kid on the way, am I right? The breakup would have been harder by the arrival of any children and the signed papers of marriage. You can't blame him for falling in love with someone else (realistically such a thing could happen to anyone if we ever dare to be honest with ourselves) but he didn't go the right way about it. Mind you, this would be a challenging thing for anyone to sort out tidily. The violence against Cynthia or anyone is unacceptable. Consider it a serious personal flaw of Lennon's. Doesn't subtract from him being a mint songwriter and him turning ultimately into a better human being.

McCartney > Lennon
Macca writes better tunes
Lennons solo stuff was rubbish.

Anyways, back to Lord Liam

Beady Eye - Start Anew (acoustic) OUI TELE (17/5-13) - YouTube

From 1994 to 2002 Liam had the best voice - bit iffy at times since but i think he sounds pretty good at the moment

Even though i was disappointed in Beady Eye turning up on The Voice - at least Liam showed them what a proper voice is. DGSS was average at best - maybe 7/10 after a reappraisal. BE is definitley a 9 as the tunes are a lot stronger.

Beady Eye coming to Aus and NZ for Big Day Out as replacements for Blur!
