Another word I think we need more of, by which I mean any of, in professional music reviews, is 'elide'. It means something not dissimilar to 'elude' but sounds fancier and only gets used by political-science/sociology bloggers and academics.

It's sort of like 'slide' in Fight Club. Picture your spirit animal, oh it turns out it's Marla Singer. "Slide!"
