I will submit a list this weekend. If I don't, someone please kill an Oasis fan as retribution.

"Get rid of all the Oasis songs and just bathe ourselves in Beady Eye"

Me neither. There were lots of albums in 2010 that I liked or loved but none that I looooooooved, whereas last year I could name at least five. My only OMG album this year was The Bairns by Rachel Unthank and the Winterset and that's a 2007 release.

Yeah, 2010 was pretty weak on standout records. The Suburbs and Twisted Fantasy >>>> everything else. 2009 was worse. For me, it was just Veckatimest. 2008 was MUCH better: In Ghost Colours, For Emma, Dear Science, Microcastle, Fleet Foxes...hell yeah.

2010 was far, far, far better than 2009 for me personally. It's all fairly arbitrary though, as we all react completely differently to the same music I guess.

I had a really weird year with music last year, didn't connect with much new music at all. Was actually pretty upset by it, so I was really happy to like so much this year.

I had NLOTH, Mutemath's Armistice, and Doves' Kingdom of Rust as OH EM Gee favorites in 2009 and plenty of great albums as well, including ones I've only discovered recently. So far 2009 was far stronger for me than 2010. But as I said, I listened to a lot of 2010 albums that I think shows the artist's potential for bigger and better things to come.

I found 2010 to be a fabulous year for music, personally. Granted, I did listen to more new albums this year than ever before, but High Violet still trumps anything that I have heard in the past five years except In Rainbows. I also feel as though 2010 had strong contributions from a more diverse array of styles than in years past, but that just may be a result of my more limited scope from the past few years.

i had two OH EM GEE albums last year (Embryonic and Paul Dempsey's Everything is True) and one this year (This is Happening).

but that's not counting non-2010/2009 albums that i heard for the first time, which makes discovering music even more enjoyable.

In searching out some of the music I've seen on year-end best-of lists, I have found a good number of albums I want to buy (and of course, some of them are import-only and therefore effing expensive).

So yay for year-end lists.

I thought 2010 ruled over 2009 myself.

For the record, I think 2010 was better because there was no one stand-out record.
