This saddens me, and I personally don't hear that myself. Oh well, can't win 'em all.

Mumford and Sons isn't so bad. They're just not special and got way too much hype.

That's a nice read, LemonMelon. I'll have to check out that Pantha du Prince album.

You do seem, however, to have misplaced High Violet at number 21 rather than number 1.

Bonoz2012, they may not sound similar at all. Blue October were the first people I thought of when I heard his voice, and I am exceedingly opposed to them, so it could have been a knee jerk reaction to dislike them.

Agreed. Are they just the British version of The Avett Brothers?

That's all well and good, mind you, but that's all I hear when I listen to them, or at least the big single.

Ariel Pink fannies, is it strange that 'Cant hear My Eyes' is possibly my favorite song from the album? It's got this super cheesy '80's easy listening vibe going on, feels like something I should hate, but I love it.

Everyone who has ArchAndroid on their list gets a big . I wish all "pop" music could be so sophisticated.

12. Sleigh Bells - Treats (4)
13. Midlake - The Courage Of Others (2)
14. 65daysofstatic - We Were Exploding Anyway (1)

Just missing the cut...

The Radio Dept. - Clinging To A Scheme
Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record
Spoon - Transference
Stars - The Five Ghosts
Surfer Blood - Astro Coast
Four Tet - There Is Love In You
Beach House - Teen Dream

Also, you don't see Springsteen's The Promise on here. I can't really call it a new album, as it's part of the Darkness reissue, so I didn't include it. But if I did, rest assured it would've been somewhere in the Top 5.

Darkness is the best reissue of the year, hands down.

True story: I was sitting in a room with some friends when one of them started playing that song. The guy whose room it was walked in and said, "God damn it, Dan, not your music again." I said, "I did not put this song on, that was him." Then everyone listened to it in full and liked it except me.

I vomited that day.

i heard it on the radio twice. first time i listened to the whole thing because it's got that trainwreck kind of "this song sucks so much, i have to keep hearing it, maybe it will get better? why does this song suck so much? maybe if i don't change the station, i'll figure out why, because it almost sounds like something i would actually like...but yet, so not good." second time was, "hey, i think i've heard this before...oh yeah, it's that song. maybe if i sit through it a second time i'll have changed my mind?" third time, i did change the station, which was about 2 weeks ago, and i'm pretty sure i haven't listened to the radio since (not because of that song, just because it's the radio).
