GAF not including Taylor Swift was easily the biggest upset of the tournament.

RED is the best album released in the last two years, and I didn't want to debase it by giving it some arbitrary point total in a stupid internet voting game.

If I had a dollar for every time Mofo said "I haven't heard it yet" or words to that effect last year.

I still haven't heard that Passion Pit album. I re-watched their SNL performance recently and liked both songs as well. I'm a terrible person.

I don't wish I did I just straight up don't like it and I accept that.

There's quite a bit I actually do like about it, but it paled in comparison to Innerspeaker for me. I didn't even ever register an opinion on it here since I was so nonplussed and didn't want to be a downer.

I do adore "Elephant" though.

I phrased that incorrectly what I meant was I had no expectations of liking it and therefore when I didn't care that much for it wasn't very disappointed

I enjoy it and I enjoy inner speaker but neither are huge favorites for me is all

I think I may have watched that PS22 kids chorus video of Feels Like We Only Go Backwards more than actually listened to the real song in 2012.

Great idea with the quotes, PFan. Agent Orange's comment about Bloom being $1.99 really had me laughing.

I wish Bloom had pulled it off, but Lonerism is a worthy victor.

Tennis not making my list is a testament to how strong 2012 was and an indictment of releasing albums so early in the year.

Worth noting: if my list were canon, we'd have a tie for #1. As creator (i.e. thief of AV Club's idea) of this points system, my vote should count, damn it.

When Ashley stated somewhere that Lonerism was number one, it was literally the only time that it wasn't. There was a brief point between lists where Bloom had 105 and Lonerism had 104. Other than that, Lonerism basically led the entire way.

For fun, here's the list with Impy added in:

T-1. Tame Impala - Lonerism
T-1. Beach House - Bloom
3. Wild Nothing - Nocturne
4. Fiona Apple - The Idler Wheel
