B&C's Best Albums of 2012

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

I even remember reading Axver's list and thinking it was bizarre that he had listened to Grimes. No idea how that slipped through the cracks. Though it was on Saturday and I definitely had a thousand beers on Saturday.

I have a class I need to go to, but I'll get you kiddies started with the first group of albums. As I did last year, I compiled a top thirty with the only rule being that you needed at least three votes to qualify. That rule only impacted two albums (Cruel Summer and Centipede Hz). Let's roll, you guys.

Thanks to Axver's list, Grimes and Metric move up.

I like that the vast majority of albums we submitted only received one vote.

The perk of Peef failing to include my list is that I can see that 9 out of the 15 albums on my list were nominated solely by me.

Ha. The funny thing is that I figured this would be your first comment. I know you pride yourself on that ability to subvert the tastes of this forum.

The six you had in common with others: Alcest, Metric, Grimes, Caspian, John Talabot and Allo Darlin'.

Actually, I was kind of thinking of cutting some of the random obscure Aussie stuff that I knew wouldn't be on anybody else's list in favour of including other, more popular stuff I liked to help it out on the overall list, but you know, I wanted to include my real top fifteen, rather than my top ten plus five interlopers from the top thirty. No strategic voting and all that EYKIW shit. I don't really give a shit about "subverting" this forum's tastes Schloop-a-loop style. I just think some of the albums hyped here are rather mediocre (Tame Impala better not win this thing).

Alright, second batch of albums:

20. Twin Shadow - Confess (35 points, 6 votes)
19. Dirty Projectors - Swing Lo Magellan (37 points, 4 votes)
18. Menomena - Moms (38 points, 4 votes)
17. Cloud Nothings - Attack on Memory (41 points, 6 votes)
16. Japandroids - Celebration Rock (41 points, 7 votes)
15. Father John Misty - Fear Fun (45 points, 8 votes)
14. Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball (54 points, 5 votes)
13. Kendrick Lamar - Good Kid, Maad City (56 points, 5 votes)
12. Frank Ocean - Channel Orange (59 points, 8 votes)
11. Jack White - Blunderbuss (63 points, 7 votes)

Poor Twin Shadow. Totally thought it would crack the top ten before people turned in lists.

Wow, Kendrick Lamar didn't even make the top ten? Good, but given the hype I thought he'd be top five.

And ha, if Slopsy had bothered to do a list, Alcest would've finished 16th, 44 points from 3 votes.

And now we begin the top ten. This year's fun feature? Completely out of context comments various users made about these respective albums! Enjoy. We begin with a tie at nine...
