What does everyone think?

I think it is their best since V&A. I loved Tourist and Beyond the Neighbourhood was up and down (had some amazing tunes on it though! BNTTAI is awesome).

Joel's vocals are amazing, he is really really improving. The songs on this disc are strong too. After 2 full listens I would rate this a solid 7.9, and definately in my top 5 albums this year

Doubt you'll find many Athlete fans around here mate.

All I know Is Wires, which I got on CD single with a cool b-side about Never Running Out or something.

I know Hurricane which I didn't like it much, and You Got Tha Style.

Might check me some new-school Athlete out.

I was a big fan of Tourist, but not so much V&A. I didnt really listen to Beyond the Neighbourhood though. I'll have to check out the new one!

It seems strange there is no athlete fans in here (not many anyway!) they are like coldplay but good!

For anyone keen to get into them, I reccomend this album. It is quieter, more atmospheric and full of well crafted and beautiful tunes.

From previous albums, essential listening:

Vehicles & Animals:
El Salvador
Westside
Beautiful
You Got the Style
Out of Nowhere

Tourist:
Chances
Half Light
Tourist
Wires
Street Map
Twenty-Four hours

Beyond the Neighbourhood:
Hurricane
Tokyo
It's Not Your Fault
The Outsiders
Second Hand Stores
Best Not To Think About It (one of the best songs of the 2000's I shit you not!)

Black Swan:
Check it all out, i dont have favs yet!

For anyone interested, the song above was inspired by the doco about the people jumping from the twin towers on sept 11.

Amazing tune. Lyrics:

He sees the flames in her tears
Sketching on her skin and he knows
That it's come to an end
And there's no point pretending it's not

And it's a long way down, a long way down from here
And it's a long way down, a long way down from here

So she smashes the glass
And there's blood on her hands and her skirt
There's the wind and a sun,
And fresh air in her lungs once again

And it's a long way down, a long way down from here
And it's a long way down, a long way down from here

So he closes his eyes
And thinks 'Maybe I'll be surprised if I do
I just might fall into another realm
And make another home there with you'

And it's a long way down, a long way down from here
And it's a long way down, a long way down from here

It's best not to think about it
Just put your arms around me

It's best not to think about it
Just put your arms around me

It's best not to think about it
Just put your arms around me.
