the bangles are better when the songs aren't sung by hoffs. she's just not that good of a lead vocalist.

Well, I was rockin' along with you until this point:

5. Eddie Money - Take Me Home Tonight
6. The Outfield - Your Love
7. When in Rome - The Promise
8. Cyndi Lauper - I Drove All Night

I would basically be in tears by the end of it, for myriad reasons the biggest being that song #6 and I have a rocky relationship and song #7 was my wedding song

#5 and #8 are just two of my favorite songs ever and the latter makes me pretty emotional.

My friend (another yoga teacher) and I were talking about yoga playlists, and she talked about being careful not to trigger people with what you're playing. I would guess that the stretch from 5 to 8 would be innocuous and uplifting for people sweating their asses off in a hot yoga class, but now I know, you just never know!

The end of the mix might affect me more, if I weren't busy telling people to "find a long spine, inhale.....aaaaand fold forward."

ETA: The main thing, I think, is that people like to hear songs they know at yoga. So hopefully this mix will go over well.

Ranking Neil Young albums because I've hit a bit of a wall with his discography and am not sure where to go next:

Classic tier:

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere
Rust Never Sleeps
After the Gold Rush
On the Beach
Tonight's the Night
Zuma

Great tier:

Ragged Glory
Harvest
Psychedelic Pill
Time Fades Away

Enjoyable but flawed tier:

Comes a Time
Freedom
Sleeps with Angels
Harvest Moon
Le Noise
Neil Young
American Stars N' Bars

Weak tier:

Americana
Fork in the Road

I've always been curious about the 70s bootlegs/Chrome Dream stuff, maybe I'll listen to that next.

I'd put Americana one step higher. The guy was clearly having a lot of fun with that one.

High Flyin' Bird is fucking awesome too.

I just never feel any urge to go back to the album.

Someone needs to stop making lists and listen to Broken Arrow and Chrome Dreams II.

It's very possible to do both.

I have high expectations for Broken Arrow because it's referencing the Buffalo Springfield classic of the same name.

HeartlandGirl, that's a great list! So many classics in there. But one thing I wanted to say is that I've come to a point where I simply cannot stand Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) anymore. It has got way too much repetition and to make things worse, gets overplayed like crazy on Vh1 Classic.
