Neil McCormick seems to think she was talented. He is critical enough for me.

RIP Amy.

there is another way

you could just give Back to Black a fair listen or two
after I heard one song, that's what I did
and I thought she was very good, that was her best work

she may not fit your taste, that is fine too.

This news is not surprising but sad. She had talent when she was at the top of her game, but her love for the lifestyle she couldn't shake made her a hot mess who would be dead in just a matter of time. RIP.

Is it just me (and no slight intended on people who like these songs best) or is there an incredibly sad irony that people loved songs with themes like Rehab and Addicted the most...

I loved pre Black Amy

Back to Black is full of drug references, so I guess it's inevitable (I always skip Rehab though. So sick of that one). Frank has some decent songs, but I dont think it comes close to the greatness of BtB

I am heartbroken about Amy's death. Such talent. So young to die.

Back to Black was incredible, especially the title track (album version).

I'm guessing number one album tomorrow, then?

Rehab and B to B
is what put her on the map.

She had great vocal styling, with the jazz stuff and the more popular R and B, soul style, Back to Black stuff. itty bitty girl with a big voice.

And in response to gvox, Addicted is about marijuana, hardly something that leads to an early grave. And of course you can't get addicted to weed anyway, only gain a dependency.
