So, Around the Sun is a pretty bad album, eh? Well I did the impossible and made a really good album that they could have released instead of that piece of shit. They would have had to save Bad Day, Animal, and the attendant b-sides, but this record is in the lower half of their top 10. The alt versions are really good. They have some life to them; they aren't floating in glass like dead butterflies.

Leaving New York (alt version)
Animal
Electron Blue (alt version)
I Wanted To Be Wrong
Final Straw (alt version)
Bad Day
Wanderlust (alt version)
Adagio
Aftermath (alt version)
Out In The Country

There's an astounding amount of rare stuff there. Who know Moz had such great fans (well, I shouldn't be shocked since I love the Smiths!:sexywink:).

Now you can make your own version, or make a playlist with mine!

When you have to piece together a 'good' album from random assorted nonsense, you know you're in trouble.

Exhibit A: my personal 'best of U2 2000-2005' which contains two songs from 1999 and nothing, nada, from HTDAAB.

Yes, I believe it was originally called "PSA."

("A public service announcement followed me home the other day ...." )

Here's the original 1986 Bad Day (PSA).

It was included on the second disc of the Best of IRS years compilation.

As you can hear, most of the lyrics and melody stayed the same for the '03 version.

You can also tell it provided some inspiration for 'Its The End of The World As We Know It" a year later.
