I can't believe it - I actually like all of the record of the year and song of the year nominees!

Okay first I need to recover from the shock that Radiohead got nominated for the fucking grammy awards! And that too in so many categories! :eeklaugh:

Next, a few comments:

Nominees for Album Of The Year are:

Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends - Coldplay
In Rainbows - Radiohead

Rooting for either of those two!

Song Of The Year nominees include:

"American Boy" - William Adams, Keith Harris, Josh Lopez, Caleb Speir, John Stephens, Estelle Swaray & Kanye West, songwriters (Estelle Featuring Kanye West)
"Viva La Vida" - Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, & Chris Martin, songwriters (Coldplay)

Either one.

Best Rock Album nominees are:
Death Magnetic - Metallica

While I enjoyed Death Magnetic to an extent, it does not deserve Best Rock Album!

Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance (For a solo vocal performance. Singles or Tracks only.)
Rise - Eddie Vedder

Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals
House Of Cards - Radiohead

 See, I told you guys that House Of Cards is better than Reckoner!....... ;)

Best Rock Instrumental Performance
Castellorizon - David Gilmour
Suicide & Redemption - Metallica

Both great instrumentals! Hope one of them wins.

It would be nice to see In Rainbows win it, and I actually think it has a pretty good chance. But the only one I really care about is Eddie being nominated for Solo Rock Performance. "Rise" is a beautiful song and my favorite off of the Into the Wild soundtrack and I would love for it to win. Go Ed! Here's the song in case some of you haven't heard it -

YouTube - Eddie Vedder Rise

Riiiiiiise UP.

Coldplay is going to sweep. Watch In Rainbows win Best Alternative Album, which is a mediocre category this year.

this is Coldplay's year... this is them becoming U2, if they sweep that's it, they've made it, and they'll sell out Wembley Stadium

They could really become the biggest band in the world... except that around that time we'll know about U2's new album

and THIS category is the most interesting

Best Rock Instrumental Performance

Hope (Live For The Art Of Peace) - Rush
Peaches En Regalia - Zappa Plays Zappa

I like at least 2 songs or artists in each catergory. I do like Coldplay and I think they will a couple awards.

Did anyone notice that Flight of the Conchords is nominated for best comedy album?

Boom.

Did anyone notice that Flight of the Conchords is nominated for best comedy album?

Boom.

It's business time.

How is Gilmour nominated for Rock Instrumental? Didn't his album come out 2 full years ago?

Grammys be retarded, mang.

The Grammy's instrumental selections are always.....beyond ridiculous. They like to act like entire instrumental scenes and genres don't exist.

Seriously though, all of the Grammys nominations are always beyond ridiculous.

4 serius.

Think About It.

You know what I think causes most of these shitty Grammy noms?

Inner City Pressure.

Two and a half, actually.

I'm curious to see who wins the "old fart who used to be talented that released an album, which is such an impressive feat at their age" award this year. Robert Plant/Alison Krauss seem to fit the bill pretty well.

Those sexy hermaphrodite lady-man-ladies in Coldplay are bringing home at least 5 awards. Bank on it.

I was hoping that Kid Rock would sweep, but it looks like that can't be the case.

I suppose Coldplay have about the same measure of talent, so it won't be too far off my expectations.

Nice to see Raising Sand get a mention, I  that album.

I agree that Coldplay will probably sweep and Radiohead will win for Alternative Album. I wonder if anyone from Radiohead will actually show up.

And... Katy Perry?? :yuck:

I'm rooting for Plant/Krauss. They have to be a dead cert for Vocal Duo surely?! And, as much as I love Gilmour, I'm rooting for Nine Inch Nail's 'Ghosts' album for Best Instrumental - a majestic album that is beautiful, confusing and haunting all at the same time.
