If we were to do the year end poll today, my list would look like this:

1. Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy
2. Hookworms - Microshift
3. DJ Koze - Knock Knock
4. A.A.L. (Against All Logic) - 2012-2017
5. MGMT - Little Dark Age
6. U.S. Girls - In a Poem Unlimited
7. Beach House - 7
8. Pusha T - Daytona
9. Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks - Sparkle Hard
10. Mount Eerie - Now Only
11. Melody’s Echo Chamber - Bon Voyage
12. Saba - Care For Me
13. Kali Uchis - Isolation
14. Screaming Females - All At Once
15. Natalie Prass - The Future and the Past

This has been a really fun year of music.

I feel like this year has been pretty slow so far. Only three that have really struck me are Beach House, Rhye, and Pusha T.

Thinking the same thing. My favorite album has been the Black Panther soundtrack, but I've been quite disappointed with what Justin Timberlake and Kanye have put out. Although Lift Yourself may be the funniest Kanye song ever.

DEATH AND THE MAIDEN. WISTERIA.

Goddamn what an album. Without a doubt my #1 so far.

Will share a more complete list when I have the time.

Stuff I’ve enjoyed so far:
Loma - s/t
Superorganism - s/t
DJ Koze - Knock Knock
Fall Out Boy - MANIA
Arctic Monkeys - TBH&C
Sigur Rós - Route One
The Weeknd - My Dear Melancholy

Stuff I need to spend (more) time with:
Manic Street Preachers - Resistance Is Futile
A.A.L. - 2012–2017
God Is An Astronaut - Epitaph
Belly - Dove

I'd say I've got a pretty clear top three (no order) - Knock Knock, 2012-2017 and Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, and a shitload of others I need to spend more time with.

Only two real stand outs thus far for me -

Donovan Woods - Both Ways
Janelle Monae - Dirty Computer

OK - three.

Steps - Live From Wembley Arena :reject:

Is It Far Or Is It Close by Author for me. I will be shocked if something tops it. But I don't listen to nearly as much new music as others here.

I'll add more later, but here are two of my favorite albums from 2018 that I don't believe I've mentioned. Both post-punk, both from the UK, both quite enjoyable.

Shame - 'Songs of Praise' - Taking it serious post-punk. NSW informed me of these guys.

Shopping - 'The Official Body' - Having a ton of fun post-punk. The internet informed me of these guys.

More fun rock, I enjoy every track on both of thes.

Parquet Courts - 'Wide Awake!' - Produced by Danger Mouse, every song on this album could potentially be more fun to listen to than any other song on any other album you've heard from 2018. I have no clue which track to share, all are fun.

Stephan Malmmoose and Jick - 'Sparkle Hard' - This is probably the best Pavement related album since the last Pavement album. Entertaining from start to finish.

Would have been top 15 if I would indeed consider them as new 2018 music:
The Shins - The Worm's Heart

Great albums that could still move into my top 15 over time:
LUMP - LUMP

Mary Lattimore - Hundreds of Days

Also should add:
Hot Snakes - Jericho Sirens

Here are my not so surprising favs.

Okkervil River - 'In The Rainbow Rain'

Beach House - '7'

A few I've not listened to enough to say:

I don't even know about the albums you're speaking of, but I've been waiting for years for someone to revive that bit from Donnie Darko. wait, was it Donnie Darko? I guess it was.
