According to this site I must be going to the very worst spots in Hell.

I mean after all, just about every band I listen to has a guitar player. and a drum player! And many of of the musicians like to drink various forms of alcohol (and I think a few might even like fruit juice :shifty: ). and smoke -- and some of them like smoke stuff other than cigarettes. :yikes: Some have even been arrested.

And then there's the sex. Many of them have had sex -- with people they aren't married to! And there have been cases of public nudity....one even was naked, stoned, and creating a disturbance (hey, a naked, stoned guy tied to the bow of a boat screaming "I am Helen of Troy" is bound to draw attention  ).

And many musicians I listen to say fuck. A lot! And various and sundry other curse words too. and the innuendo...lots and lots of innuendo.

It just goes on and on and on.....

I'm doomed to Hell. :yikes:

Hell yeah! Doom me some more, baby!!!

Is it weird that the thing that most offended me about this site was the fact that they put U2 in the Christian artist category instead of the secular artist category?

I especially like the part of the site that discourages Christians from supporting AIDS-related causes because they're "ungodly and perverse." Yeah, that sounds really Christian. And they list the Ryan White Foundation as one of these horrible organizations!

I very much believe in God, but it's things like this that make me believe more and more that organized religion does more harm than good. I have a real problem with someone telling me what I should believe.

What's that line from the gospels? "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Fanatical Christians ought to try reading the bible a little more instead of ordering others around supposedly in the name of it.

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait a sec, i haven't seen this site yet, but it sounds suspiciously like that "corrupt christian music" thing that caused such an upsetment (is that a word or did i just make it up?) a while ago.
as for "spirit of the rising sun" line...that line actually did bother me a little bit, i must confess. But on further thought, i guess it doesn't need to. i certainly didn't lose any sleep over it.

people like this help make laws and run the country.

Too be fair, the evangelicals who engage in politics these days, as scary as they may be sometimes, are different from these guys. George Bush, Contemporary Christian music, Billy Graham, Jerry Fallwell, charities that have been advocated by evangelical leaders--these are all things on this group's shit-list. I doubt that members of this group participate in Republican/Democrat party politics, they are more of a fringe of a fringe group that no one would know anything about if it weren't for the internet. Which is why I don't think anyone should be terribly offended by them---just a bunch of loonies.

For some reason, reading some of their more trivial quotes, in this context, makes them much more amusing.

Also, bonus points for including a picture of David Bowie flipping the bird.

"All I know is that Larry looked like some kind of porn star." Bahaha.

Lock up your daughters, he's just bought some more juice. It may even be orange.

Bono visited Ruth Ann Graham after the 2002 Grammy's to read her poems by a secular poet, Seamus Heaney, who wrote novels full of mysticism and emptiness.
For the wife of Billy Graham to sit with a wicked man like Bono and read futile poems, reveals her lack of godliness.

visiting nice old ladies & reading poetry is sinful?
:lmao:

but it get's better-Coldplay's Chris Martin=Jimi Hendrix
double :lmao:

At first I thought it was a spoof thing that The Onion would do or something:laugh:

Scary...although I must say they use some pretty great pictures (esp. of U2 - love the Larry one:drool: ) when detailing how evil the artists are.

Just too bad some informations written on the page aren't even true ahah. No seriously, you really gotta feel no self confidence for doubting in what you believe just because of some songs. It's not like I was Christian anyway lol But I like the spiritual meaning you find in some U2's song and just too bad for the freaks that can't appreciate it ;) Afterall, U2 is not a gospel - it's a rock band !

- I really liked visiting this website by the way... good humor ;) -
