Jara's Song
The Fly
Has anyone else noticed that Bono is in position to replace Billy Graham as the most influential "Christian" in our culture/politics?
Jara's Song said:Bono has been close (shared his faith) with both President Clinton and Bush. And almost single handedly gotten the Africa Crisis on the radar screens of American both left and right.
BonoVoxSupastar said:Yes but he's still a rock star, and lives a somewhat rock n roll life. Just take a look in here some accuse him of not really being saved, being a "trendy unitarian", can't be a Christian and drink, etc.

It's such an honour to be quoted....or misquoted as the case may be.

Jara's Song is asking a legitimate question. (I loved Victor Jara)
While I don't believe Bono right now could replace Graham as far as being the most influential Christian in the world, I will open the possibility that in the years to come as the Rock Star glow begins to dim, he just may become a very influential person in contemporary Christian thinking.
And I feel we would all be the better for it.
Thanks, Jara's Song, for a thoughtful post.

As for him living a rock n roll life, until you've walked in his shoes you won't ever really know what his life has been like behind closed doors.

Um, he's been pretty open about it...
