There ain't no place I'd rather be, baby won't you
I imagine you Soul Folk talked this one down a long time ago,

but

could someone please let me know if there's a transcript anywhere for Bono's preacherly rants on this remarkable DVD, before Streets, or from anywhere else on the DVD?

He seems to be really channeling spirit on this recording in a remarkable manner.

thanks,
Anu

18. What was Bono saying before "Where the Streets Have No Name" during the Elevation Tour?

He was quoting from a portion of Psalm 116 of the Old Testament:

What can I give back to God
For the blessings he's poured out on me
I'll lift hig the cup of salvation
A toast to God

I'll pray in the name of God
I'll complete what I promised God I'll do
And I'll do it together with his people

The translation of Psalm 116 that Bono had been quoting before "Where the Streets Have No Name" is taken directly from The Message by Eugene Peterson. [EH, M2]

Wow, that's amazing, I knew it was a spiritual thing he was talking about, but it's even better that it's taken right out of the bible - love it. It's made even better by Bad before it (how long to sing this song chants - wow!), then streets after it (with the best camera filming ever).
