I just got the photos today. Pretty blurarama but there you go. Antwerp Sunday night kicked arse. There were moments of genuine tenderness and kindness, love between the audience , the band members, a special thanks to all those behind the scenes on the elevation and popmart tours. He was fond that belgium was the home of the lemon, and the adage that ?last time we came with a lemon, this time a heart ? you need both in your lives? went down a treat with me.
The setlist was comprehensive, no song unwanted. The fully-fledged penultimate WUDM was especially chilling, but without a doubt the sheer anger and passion of SBS brought tears to many an eye - especially after the weekend bomb in London. I don?t know if the whole house (including the seated areas) at American concerts would be on their feet for the entire show, but that?s the way it goes in Europe.
I just want to say that this band is special, and it was an honour to be there ? I forgot how good Bono is at engaging with the audience ? when he held the spotlight in my face during bullet it seemed like he was sending a beam of emotion and adrenaline straight into my heart that could have lifted me beyond the ceiling - which was where the music kept me all night.
