To be honest, I couldn't understand about half it when Bono was singing. I'm not a native French speaker, and it can be touch for me to understand, especially through an audience recording at a U2 concert. :p

I did catch enough of it to be able to do a Google search, which I knew would turn up someone else's words (I heard a guy chanting along in the crowd).

Like most Bono ramblings in Bad, this is another song, written in 1959, called "Ne Me Quitte Pas" by a fella named Jacques Brel

Ne me quitte pas
Il faut oublier
Tout peut s'oublier
Qui s'enfuit déjà
Oublier le temps
Des malentendus
Et le temps perdu
A savoir comment
Oublier ces heures
Qui tuaient parfois
A coups de pourquoi
Le cœur du bonheur
Ne me quitte pas
Ne me quitte pas
Ne me quitte pas
Ne me quitte pas

Don't leave me
We need to forget
All can be forgotten
That's already fleeing
To forget the time
Of mistunderstandings
And the lost time
To know how
To forget these hours
That killed sometimes
With blows of "why?"
The happy heart
Doesn't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me
Don't leave me

Fantastic knox. I owe you one BIG TIME. :D

FYI - I met the guy who taped this in Albany during the Elevation tour.

Him: "Did you hear the Manray Bootleg?"
Me: "Yeah - it was great, although the sound quality was shit"
Him: "I recorded that"
Me: (oops) "Oh... err. sorry. Great job!" :D

He had a scanner and recorder and was trying to record sound check while we were in the GA line. You could here just the Edge's guitar during a sound check of Bad. Awesome! Nice guy. From Holland I think.
