Unlikely Saviour

Unlikely Saviour, yet try
What mortal flesh to question why
The sun died giving birth to night
Stars first flickered then coiled in fright
Silent anguish bereft a reply.

Shouldered burden yet no outcry
No great outpouring beseeches sky
Within there glows a sheltered light
Unlikely Saviour

Alone he stands, audible sigh
Broken wings can no longer fly
Eyes glazed beyond point of sight
And tho mere words can?t make it right
I?ll love him surely, for him I?d die
Unlikely Saviour

Beautiful. This seems to me to be some form of sonnet, even though the lines and stanzas are different. Technically then it's not a sonnet, but it somehow has the mood and feel of a sonnet. Am I explaining this right?
