Trivial Thoughts in a Trivial Brain

I got Trivial Thoughts in a Trivial Brain,
I got meds lined up to keep me sane.
Restless and bored, doodling like a fiend,
Thought I had answers but they weren't what they seemed.

I went to the mountain, never made it passed the base.
I brought the wrong shoes and the guide was a head case.
I took a seat instead and looked up on high,
Fell asleep while watching the day go by.

My jacket got wet in the rain.
But it's trivial thoughts in my trivial brain
That keep me going, that keep me sane.

Why would I mock myself?

I'm just saying that my mind focuses on trivial things, and I feel like I'm missing out on much of life because of it. I guess I could have just written "I'm an idiot", but then it wouldn't be a poem. I'd have to post that in Zoo Confessionals. And this is Dream Out Loud, so I'm just following the rules.
