The Fly
You are by far the most beautiful thing I’ve seen,
Much more than the word beautiful could ever mean
And from the Northern Lights of incandescent skies
To the purest starlit night, all bow to your eyes.
Give me waterfalls, give me sunsets, give me lands
Covered with rain forests and where green never ends
But not a single sight can compare to the grace
That life has given to the smile upon your face.
But beware of the trap that lies beyond beauty,
Nothing’s uglier than girls who know they’re pretty;
Once they become aware of it, it disappears.
But never will happen one of my greatest fears
Because whoever made you physically flawless
Was careful enough to endow you with kindness.
