The Flag

There is a final stanza to this.....which I shall not post. I will let Mankind determine those words.

Flag

They take the land
They take the lives
Anger is so distrustful
like a pendulum which swings
back and forth
back and forth.

Speak of peace
pacts signed in darkness
never see the light
until the glow burns a fire
so intense it destroys
the flag.

A flag......just some fabric
borne of design
many colors they are
the size may vary
but they all fly on high
proud of values
each of a belief
no two the same
all trying to find a place
in a world so distressed.

Through storms and wars
years of turmoil
Mankind cannot unite
each wanting that one thing . . .
which none ever will possess.

{time and Mankind will write the remaining words...}

For Honor.......it's Mankind's determination...I speak not of a bleak and destructive outcome......nor of a peace on earth scenario.......what the future beholds is up to Mankind........that is why I left it unfinished.

Feel free to write in your thoughts of what the last stanza should read.
