"The Enemy"

Hidden tonight by the walls
of darkness surrounding me
There are no stars in the sky
Does he know I cannot see?

His footsteps beat fear into my soul
He knows that I am near
Can he see me?
Will he sense my fear?

He passes by me without stopping
My soul filled with relief
He turns quickly to come back
I cringe with horrid disbelief

Pulled back by his anger
Hungry for fear from a stranger
He feeds on my terror
I am overwhelmed by the danger

My trembling heart is paralyzed
by the hostility so deep in his eyes
I am blinded and helpless
He decide who lives or dies

That was quite a scary image upwiththesun. I hope you werent speaking from experience.
It scared me, therefore it drew me into just what the charcter was feeling. Great stuff

I wrote this after the 2nd DC concert when I was in the heart. I was on the railing by Edge's side when Bono sang "Bullet". You know how he goes into character during this song. He stopped right in front of me and shined that spot light in my face for what felt like forever during the scariest part of the song. He scared the "hooties" out of me! I was actually relieved when he went on the the end of the heart! Now why couldn't I be lucky enough for him to stop in front of me for a song like "With or Without You"!
