"Taken Away"

Her face is plain, (in a conventional way) -- like the hills that
don't take our breath away,
like the hills we never photograph.
But the familiarity it shows,
gives off a warmth
Mt Everest has never known.
Her skin surrounds her soul,
binding her in --
and she shines through --
an impression of love
without an expression.
Her smile reaches in -- where I've always been.
It keeps me warm.
She walks away.
I'm taken away -- (she's taken my breath away).
She's gone.


I wrote this a while ago, but just read it the other day and I can still relate to it, somehow.
