Sympathetic Poetic

I lost a thought
when I lost your love
I left you
now you're watching from above

there were a million stars
wrapped around lookout
you reached out and held a small sun
you handed the small sun to me
but when I reached to hand you one
I was too small
I was too small

I lost a dream
when I lost your heart
I left alone
now you're not here to fill your part

On a Saturday night in a midwestern field
you showed me the lights
they shimmered across the heavens
they glimmered in your eyelids
But when I reached out to touch them
I was too gone
I was too gone

I lost my life
when I lost your faith
I stand cold
now because I've lost my faith

The sun isn't shining
The rain hasn't stopped
The truth is stolen
The cradle has rocked
The dream are unspoken
The beauty is over
The dance is ended
The one without a lover

another beautiful poem... it makes my heavy heart seem weightless in comparison...

"there were a million stars
wrapped around lookout
you reached out and held a small sun
you handed the small sun to me
but when I reached to hand you one
I was too small
I was too small"

that stanza really struck me, thanks for sharing your work...

hey bicyclingfish this is really great -- the one wanderer mentioned stuck with me too, along with this bit:

On a Saturday night in a midwestern field
you showed me the lights
they shimmered across the heavens
they glimmered in your eyelids
But when I reached out to touch them
I was too gone
I was too gone

Nice job
