Staring at the Sun - OR - The Other Side of Winter

Frost covers everything
grass and cars and trees and roofs
Billions of tiny glittering facets
fields of grey-brown and silver-green
The hills glow from behind
with the promise of dawn
A few higher clouds already bask in the light.
Fog gathered in the valleys
now begins to peel away
Sedately levitating from the ground.
Sunlight streams through tree tops
leftover mist is airborne gold
Strange and powerful shadows dance among the trees.
The horizon drops away
Thin shallow warmth hits my face
And I see the sun.

Beautiful...very descriptive, and just when I get an image in my mind of the scene, it changes when I picture the sunshine. Very nice.
