slipping loose
from an overworked
exhausted book
Bank notes
fluttering
in the silence of a car crash breeze
motion suspended
as souls ascend
and wonder if
this time they will
be free
mortality a moment
away from forever
resuscitated
but not rescued
a heartbeat
tolls
a life knell
a breath
a return
To their living
hell

You always manage to come up with the coolest imagery that is so vivid and so instantly accessible "Bank notes fluttering in the silence of a car crash breeze" is itself heart stopping in its poignant realism.

Sorry- was gone for a week - just back to check in
The bank note line was actually from an incident in T.O. where an armoured bank truck crashed and money flew all over the Gardner. There was a moment of surreal stillness as the notes fluttered around then everyone leapt out of their cars and started stuffing the money away!. The rest is inspired by the opening of the Ben Okri bbok -The Famished Road (i THINK)?!
