long days
stretched out before me
hot days
cooler nights, long walks
in the cooler nights

anticipating
all those summer things
barbeques, the friends
i can smell the steak and onions
that sizzle on the grill
the laughter
relaxing
insect repellant

so grateful
that i can look forward
not back
better days are on the way
lessen the stress
with the long days and
cool nights
comes a sense
that all will be well
in my world
and yours
for your world is mine too

barefoot
dancing in the summer rain
thats what i love
waking every morning to a
bright new day
this fantastic sense of hope
in the warm days
cooler nights
this summer sun will
warm my skin and
warm my soul
