Narcissism and Loathing

Lying at the side of the road,
Although I always tell the truth,
I’ve never saw the point in disguising,
Neither the facts nor the use,
Of breeding malevolence in the hearts of my foes,
Scorching their souls with fire,
Losing the innocence I’ve grasped since the dawn,
Watching the flames rise higher and higher,
Engulfing my being, choking my lungs,
Attempting to extinguish my life,
I’ve never tried as hard as this,
To barely stay alive,
People say there’s a distinguished way to die,
With this I beg to differ,
For life is our highest achievement thus far,
And this we have been given,
I’ve oft considered though fading away,
Leaving these contradictions behind,
I’m a frightful narcissist at heart,
But I’m full of self loathing inside………….
