I don't have it
I've lost it all together
Out of reach but all around
She baits me with her sights and sounds
I want it in the most excruciating manner
But it won't happen
I'll never have her
She teases me
Cruel and painful but without intent
Having taken her for granted is my great lament
Tormented by what could have been
I close my eyes and try to dream
Wishing time might tick tock back
Reality awakes me with a thunderclap
My strength is fading as I walk this path
I search for solace but there's none to have
And as the curtain closes on this one man play
I question all those choices made
And wonder if this punctured heart
Will ever find its missing part

If this is how you feel at this moment, and not something from the past, then good luck getting over it.

I've come to realize that love isn't something that can really be given or received. It's only shared. (in short words, and in my opinion)

There isn't anything outside of you that you don't need. Luxouries are nice, though. But not necessary

Actually, if you look a little deeper you'll see that the poem isn't really about love lost (I wrote this a while back). Though I definatley played with the words in a way that is meant to lead you to think that.:)
