where there's no one but me

where the lonliness sleeps.
I live in a church
where the rain falls down.
i cry at the laughter
when there's noone around.

Where did you come from?
The little glass bells
What is the difference?
I cant taste the smells

I live in a garden
where the mother only weeps.
How can I wipe her tears
when her baby now sleeps?
I live by a lake
where the little children hide.
I live in a world
where nobody looks inside.

well, it is 4:30 in the morning here in the States, I am numb . . . I hurt too, I live in world that no one understands, I can't say that it will ever be any different, because I know better, I know myself too well . . . I should be asleep by I am not, you just struck a nerve that runs very deep thru my soul . . . so now I must listen to Achtung Baby while I drink from the 20-year-old bottle of scotch I just opened in honor of you . . . another wandering spirit, U2 - clever little word isn't it?
