"I Let you Rain on Me"

In a room full of strangers I see you smiling at me
A sea of blank faces and I notice your's looks like me

Now, its time for you to go
Your thunder must roll
Your highway has called
But before you blow
I want you to know...

Sometimes, I let you rain on me
Sometimes, I let you rain on me
I let you rain on me

In a street full of strangers sometimes I can't breathe the air
A sea of blank faces and I notice your's is not there

So, I sit inside a small cafe
Overlooking Broadway
On a semi-cloudy day
I look your way
And I'm okay
And I'm okay...

Sometimes, I let you rain on me
Sometimes, I let you rain on me
I let you rain on me
I need you to rain on me
I need you to rain on me

I'm going to feel foolish asking this if these are lyrics by a well known artist I should know- but I love this poem and noticed the copyright tag. Is this something you wrote or are they lyrics to a song you like?
