Lights run up and down your dress
swirling and scampering about in calm confusion.
You wear the river like a sash
draped over your breast and round your belly
the moon a jewel in your hair.
Proud but pushed
a woman called a child.
Some days you spread your legs
jeer at those who don't believe.
Some days you cry, sigh silently from the sky
in the language your people know best.
Often you raise your head, a city always on the break
of dawn, confident as a sister in faith
a sailor at sea
that your night won't forget to pass.

(my 2c.. rough draft, last sentance if worked on could be more powerful, a couple extra sentances in the middle. but.. there ya have it) :)

  THIS IS THE COOLEST THING

Very Bonoesque!
