The joys of the night
Of a naked sleepwalker
Are the white geese
Wich sings north during the night
While spring lies to the desperate ones

He listens quietly and wisely
On a projecting stone
Broad wind colds his heart
With mint flowers
Does he knows in his soul there's a desperate ?

If the day is without discord
If he's happy like he says he is
If the day is not messed-up
Why leave during the night like a desperate ?

Sing geese
Sing without fading out
Sing that his sorrows aren't those of adults
Sing the air, sing the eternal love
For this desperate
For all the desparate ones

This is really nice. Some of the images (the geese, the stone) remind me of WB Yeats--the greatest poetic genius of this century and maybe any century, so I mean that as a big compliment

I only find the third stanza maybe doesn't fit quite as well with the others, it has a bit more of a modern, casual feel while the rest seems more traditional somehow. I like it a lot!

a dreaded sunny day
so let's go where we're happy
and i'll meet you at the cemetary gates
keats and YEATS are on your side
but you lose
because wilde is on mine.

Interesting, Loafer, did you make it up yourself?? And what does it mean?

its from a smiths song! its called "cemetary gates" and its beautiful and inspiring and its about reading poetry together and comparing lines and i suppose its about the singer's (morrissey's) love for wilde.

just a fun way to express thoughts about different poets...
