Smoke rings 'round your sons and daughters,
Visualise a promise,
They've stolen from us,
Sexuality lite bore from a cavern,
Sold to the public with reality television,
The most surreal vulgarity you'd ever see,
Cigarette stained black mass,
So good for publicity,

Born of ignorance,
Your sons and daughters,
Forget the promise,
Your one of us,
Your one of us,

Advertise fluoride dreams to the plastic majority,
They'll use their vote to screw a minority,
In a corner of the brothel you hold dear in your heart,
Love is failing third world lovers,
"Love" is abused on first world covers,
Of Intentikit magazine budget priced spreads,
The legs of society and sucks her 'til she bled,
She's still bleeding you know,
The blood runs thick throu' porous cloth,
Covering the humanity we've all but lost,

Born of ignorance,
Your sons and daughters,
Forget the promise,
Your one of us,
See their hearts bleed,
Hear my heart plead,
For justice in this world...........

some of the best stuff you've done to date, no joke zero dude. I didn't even notice the rhyming until I read it again.

too many good lines for me to quote, but "flouride dreams" and "third world lovers" are just great.

Spot on

edit: all of it really is great

It is... it is how I would define America right now. Our state of being. I can only imagine what Bush is going to say tonight about Iraq at 8pm.

A present day "Bullet the Blue Sky", or "heartland"

Great work

I can't believe how good it is myself, I need to deliver it well musically now, an acoustic guitar and a harmonica lol:wink:

You know I want to be a modern Dylan, arrogant that may seem, but I doubt anyone will listen to a 17 year old Belfast lad with only "a couple of chords and the truth", I do however feel the need to give my message across some how.

"A present day "Bullet the Blue Sky", or "heartland"

That floored me mate, hyperbole maybe? I can do this, time to put heart and soul back into music, my soul is eager but my mind a little unwilling, music can change the world for good, but as I mention in my own work the media is corrupted by stupidity and paper thin personalities:wink: Well the best to come from this may just be my writers block is well and truely ended:wink:

Hey, don't doubt how good that was. And yes, it sincerely made me think of those songs. Very much a good picture of America, it is how I feel about my country right now. I like my country, but I can't really think of a better way to state it's faults, the things that concern me.

I know that little sayings are indeed cliches, but as they say :

It is darkest before the dawn,
and
there is a calm before the storm

Perhaps your writers block has broken with a bang...
