"Between These Two"

My love is concious, it is aware
It walks with grace in seas of mud
It rains till dryness tears and spills a flood
My love is Christmas, my love is prayer

My head is cautious, it is warfare
It scatters on impact under pebbles and stones
It weathers in wind and surrenders to cyclones
My head is joyless, my head is nightmare

Between these two lies this:
A bitter sweet lightning kiss
Upon the lips of strangers' pureness
Caught between battle and bliss

yes, feeling those two tug you in opposite directions. i always wish i had a little more heart and a lot less head

this seems so carefully written but it flows so well. wonderful tackleberry, I love it!

Very very nice, tackleberry.

It walks with grace in seas of mud

It weathers in wind and surrenders to cyclones

My head is cautious, it is warfare

I wonder why love is conscious, though.

Thank you both for the feedback. I really appreciate that.

FAMOUS RUNGI: I used the word conscious to coincide or rather "oppose" the word cautious in the second stanza. My love is conscious, it is awake, responsive, ready for action. Match that with my head being cautious, it is scared, careful, full of restraint. Sort of like the soldier vs. the coward....plus they rhymed.
