Loafer
The Fly
Shining love upon the way
Consumes my mind, traps my soul
But its only a whisper
Calling to me as I join the fray
Fighting for air in this shifting sea
These waves of eyes and smiles
Quick looks and flashing teeth
Glasses raised and filled,
amber swimming in crystal
Clinking, murmuring, coughing, laughing,
These ocean sounds lull me
Bring me near to sleep
Your sway drags me free
And we dance the endless waltz
From drink to talk to touch to loss
To deep inside, warm and pink
Fingers flying, brushing, dabbling,
plucking your nerves as strings
To send you away babbling
And return to me in moans
Until the morning?s frost
When the heat has frozen cold,
and our thoughts are all our own.
Consumes my mind, traps my soul
But its only a whisper
Calling to me as I join the fray
Fighting for air in this shifting sea
These waves of eyes and smiles
Quick looks and flashing teeth
Glasses raised and filled,
amber swimming in crystal
Clinking, murmuring, coughing, laughing,
These ocean sounds lull me
Bring me near to sleep
Your sway drags me free
And we dance the endless waltz
From drink to talk to touch to loss
To deep inside, warm and pink
Fingers flying, brushing, dabbling,
plucking your nerves as strings
To send you away babbling
And return to me in moans
Until the morning?s frost
When the heat has frozen cold,
and our thoughts are all our own.
