Love has failed
as jagged rock ends for cliff does a mountain

Curse
as love left
we became one
the sea
to the sea
tide rolls in
the fish have disappeared
the curse inflicted
bonding forever
in loss
ours

The sand crashes upon the still sea
the moon reflects off the seaweed
washed ashore

Only one star in the night
sky
reflects the moon hung
above tide

Sea
is alive as the island's eyes
Wind
Carries the sounds
for the ones who weep
witnessed afar

Crashed
your thoughts
and you were right
tonight

Forgotten till tomorrow
when time
understands
the wound you sought
is not what you bought

Love is gone
but not far
I could not cry
or even know
the meaning
without you
and

I just wanted to say thanks to all of the kind replies to this poem or whatever it is.

I have wanted to go back and edit a part or two of it, but decided against it to let it stand as it is, as I wrote it. It captures my feelings a couple weeks ago or so when i wrote it.

I love ocean imagery so much as some of you may know. it can express so many emotions all at once, all of them big like the oceans themselves are...this one is filled with a sense of bleak desolation, it's beautifully written and very emotional and raw. I love it z_edge
