"Adore"

I
girls + women walk by
sweetness like the morning sun glistens
they shine beneath the open sky
and bathe you with their sunray kisses
soft light that colours the darkened eye

this one is pretty, this one is mean
that one is dirty, that one's a queen

and who am I to judge?

girls + women teasing the eye
with colours that flood the starry sky

white heat of the sun
her eyes trying to hold back the rain
her smile as flat as the dull horizon
her skin pale and cold and aching with pain

sweet demons of the bitter sun
making victims of every one

the golden torch of the sun
dripping her scotch silhouette flame
over the dry pavement she runs
many are like her, but none are the same

they are like the sky...

and the sky drapes the sun's children,
with its paint brush dipped in the sun's shadow
a blanket of sordid clouds and snow
making the wind falter and sigh

and you know they are the sky.

they reign above
bathe in the flooding atmosphere of life
until you are drenched in the humid abyss
as their arid sky soaks up our glances -- impurity forming acid droplets;

She is that which holds the Heavens from the earth.
Or does She deliver the Heavens to the earth?

II
(her imagination, her heart
her imperfektion is art
if your soul could touch her sun
would your lives melt into one?
or would it burn a hole right thru you?)

(if you let her shine in her own sky,
her infinite bloom will open up in your sky
and let her reflect and sparkle in the pools of time
swim in her but don't drown)

(and the sun shines within you
feel her sun, feel her warmth
chase away the coldness, spill it out
her colours flash inside you, rainbows unbroken,
in your heart, she cries
feel her scream and sting
let the chorus of the sirens that sing
welcome you to Heaven)

let her imagination dream up anything,
and her love can be everything
wander through her imagination,
it will take you beyond your dreams

all you need is love.
all she needs is love.

This reminds me of U2's Salome... 'under the spell of your love': "her imperfektion is art"

This poem is part 2 to how many songs though? Wow.

Come on, come on! Be good to me...

I adore part II, Wanderer. Very nicely written.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I really don't know how you do it...
Other than Bono, you're my favourite poet and you're not far behind...

"You got to cry without weeping
Talk without speaking
Scream without raising your voice..."

WOW! thanks all, and BabyGrace surely you must be joking?

and apoed,
I am surprised you would insinuate that I was placing women on some sort of pedestal where they had to be "perfect," you should go back and read over what I wrote again... especially in Part I

but thanks everyone for your feedback and kind words!

I'm not joking...your writing is incredible

Sorry, that Alanis line was the first thing that popped in my head. No offense.

Please do keep writing!

My favorite observation on the fairest sex?

From the fertile mind of Norm Peterson, the barfly from Cheers...

"Women. Can't live with 'em. Pass the beer nuts."

Sorry 'bout that. Couldn't resist.
