Hey everyone. Here's a song/poem I wrote up a couple days ago. It's dedicated to people who are in coma's. There's a little twist at the end, see if you can figure it out. :)

Where I’m at,
I can see her just fine.
Why does she choose to stay there?
Has she made up her mind?

I remember her sewing my shirts,
Needle and thread.
Then she would give me kisses that would last forever,
At least, that’s what she said.

<Chorus>

Oh mama…
What’s wrong with me?
Oh mama…
Don’t you see?

<End Chorus>

I’ve tried yelling her name,
Sobbing and all.
Big man says I can’t shake her though,
It’s against the law.

Could we maybe change our surroundings then?
These white walls make me feel weird.
The bed isn’t even that big, either,
But those aren’t my worst fears.

Old pictures decorate the walls,
And the smile on her face let’s me know she’s alive.
But she’s in the same position every time the lights are turned on,
She’s been this way since I was five.

<Chorus>

Oh mama…
What is this stubborn act for?
Oh mama…
Will it ever again be like before?

<End Chorus>

Big man waves that it’s time to go,
And I’ve seen this gesture before.
Mama won’t even budge though,
Like she can’t take anymore.

Big Man and Mama walk out,
As the nurse switches off the lights.
I lie in bed awake, swearing that,
One day I’ll walk out with them, I just might.

<Chorus>

Oh mama…
Can I come?
Oh mama…
Am I still your son?

<End Song>
