I've now lost 38 lbs in 8 weeks.

those are pretty amazing numbers, I imagine you are exercising along with reducing your caloric intake?

now for me

sep 24 12 = 170 pounds
oct 01 12 = 168 pounds
oct 08 12 = 167.4

I had hoped to lose more. But, I am not surprised. I don't really remember hardly ever feeling hungry this week, like I did a few times last week. I like losing 2 pounds a week. But if I can average 1 pound a week for 15 weeks I will still hit my goal.

Actually, surprisingly, I've barely been exercising. Just cut the calories back to 1000-1600 daily. Also have cut out fake sugar and cut down on sodium. I'm tall and started heavy, so sedentary I started off burning 2800 calories a day.

I still managed to lose 20 lbs in 3 months with a broken leg. I wasn't really active again until around the 8 week post break/surgery mark. What kept me going was maintaining a healthy diet and cutting out 300-400 extra calories I didn't need while not working.

I get all that.

I am about 5'9 maybe 5'9 1/2

the only way I lose, is caloric reduction, I think I burn only 2000 or a little more a day. So I have to go for 1200 calories a day.

it is easy for me to do little cheats, by rationalizing them away. There is a McDs about 6 blocks from my house, I often get into the routine of buying a soft ice cream cone, chocolate dipped a couple of nights a week. Then it turns into a nightly snack. I lie to myself because it is only 99 cents and not that big that it dose not add up.

I have not had ice cream, cookies, cake, soda, french fris for sometime now. I have had them so many times, that I don't need just one more taste, what is the point? To huff and puff on the stairs.

All I'm doing is counting calories. I figured out how many calories I burn sedentary. Then I figured out what my calorie intake should be for a decent weight loss pace. I've been having 1000-1600 per day. I've figured out some amazing less than 500 calorie meals, like this:

6 servings and just under 500 calories per serving.

Just curious, what is this? Some kind of pide? Looks delicious. Low calorie bready meals are definitely something I can get behind.

It's crescent rolls rolled out flat. Then in a pot, precooked grilled chicken, broccoli, 1/2 cup low-fat alfredo sauce, red bell peppers and fresh garlic. Then you load up the center with the mixture. Add 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Then you cut 1-inch fray along either side of the dough and braid it over. Then on the top you brush on egg white. I can PM you the exact details if you want.

Even though I'm fitting into smaller sized pants again, I'm not totally ready for them. Today at work, I wore a pair of pants that I have been finally able to zip and button easily for the first time in three years. I was so ecstatic that I expected to wear them with pride.

Too bad my butt wasn't ready for them. I had to throw on a long sweater to prevent plumber's butt and wardrobe malfunctions at work today! Oh jeez, it was a long day. But hey, I'm sure I'll be able to wear those pants again a month from now - without any awkwardness!

I love that feeling! I just got the pair of pants to not just zip but fit correctly!

I'm at that in-between stage.

I have Levis that are loose, and some that I can now get in to, but are still to tight to button at the waist. I think when I lose 5 more pounds I will be able to button them.

As of yesterday morning, 42 lbs in 9 weeks. I had to poke a new hole in my belt so that it would actually be effective. That's the 3rd I've had to poke since the middle of August. And no, I'm not getting a new belt until I've hit my first goal (80 lbs dropped, same weight as my wedding day 3.25 years ago).

oct 15 12 = 166
oct 22 12 = 166.4

I did not do so well, this week. I never really went over board. If I had not made the commitment to these weekly weigh ins, I'd probably be back at 170+.

Down 46 lbs in 11 weeks! For you math wizards, if you really care to figure out my weight, I'm down ~17% of my initial body weight. The eventual long term goal is to be down ~36-41%.

sep 24 12 = 170 pounds
oct 01 12 = 168 pounds
oct 08 12 = 167.4
oct 15 12 = 166

oct 29 12 = 165.4

Down 49 lbs in 12 weeks. :hyper: Almost halfway to me eventual, long-term goal.

sep 24 12 = 170 pounds
oct 01 12 = 168 pounds
oct 08 12 = 167.4
oct 15 12 = 166
oct 22 12 = 166.4
oct 29 12 = 165.4
nov 05 12 = 165.4
nov 12 12 = 164

that is only 6 pounds over 7 weeks, only 3.5% of my body weight.
I will say I do feel much better.

this seems to be going a bit slower than the last time I made this effort.
I still want to get to 155, that would put my BMI at 22.9 - normal, from 25.1 - overweight

53 lbs down. One more and that'll be 20% of my body weight gone since August 12th.

55.5 lbs down in 15 weeks now. Definitely starting to slow down, but I'm only about 30 lbs away from the thinnest I've been in my adult life.

Picture time!

I stood on the scale today for the first time in weeks. I thought I had stayed the same, but strangely the scale had me at 5 pounds lighter.

That's great, but I'm also baffled because I haven't been to the gym lately. I guess my dieting is working!

Weight loss is like 90% diet. See my progress? I haven't really worked out at all. Just been having 1200-1600 calories a day as a 6'2" 28 year old man.
