I was offered the contract work on the day but the graduate offer came through the next day. I've been following the process with the graduate role since (phone interview and face to face meeting). I was told that they were impressed and I just need to do a medical before getting a formal offer.

. . . graduate roles, are, as far as I understand it, entry level positions for those who have just finished their university degree . . . a foothold in the door of the career they are seeking with leeway to continue further studies if needed . . . all of that said, A_Wanderer could just be speaking 'intelligent Australian', in which case this chick is as lost as you are
