Back in the day ('89-'90) I went with a bunch of people to a Kareoke club in Manhattan. Three girls got up on stage and started singing "With Or Without You." And my friend Kathy started booing them really loudly. I asked her what the problem was and she said "You CAN'T sing kareoke to a U2 SONG!" In her view, no one in the universe could sing it as well as Bono, so no one should even try!
BTW, this is the same person whose ultimate G-rated U2 fantasy was to jump on stage and do a duet of "Pride (In The Name of Love)" with Bono! Go figure...
