Yeah, I have to admit I have spent a lot of time before my computer monitor and it just isn't healthy. Therer are so many things I could've done by now and haven't simply because I've been here talking with whoever is online.

I could've spent more time at the gym.
I could've read more books.
I could've gotten better sleep.
I could've done a better job at some of my homework assignments.
Etc....

Anyone else feel like they need to monitor their internet time? Any tips?

on the positive side:

I would get more work done

I would probably excercise more

I wouldn't feel the need to take my laptop on vacation with me

on the negative side:

I would have NO friends...the friends I have made here are literally my only friends right now. I hung out with my sister and my sister in law pre-Interference...that's it.

I would still be a very shy, social phobic person.

I would not have learned how to navigate an airport or travel to a strange city alone

So yeah...I'm probably fatter and lazier because of the internet but I've also expanded my horizons in ways I never dreamed and its been a good trade-off for me.

Um. Not in the happiest mood... so let's try and think...

Without Interference, I'd sleep a lot more! My insomnia is back and I blame it partially on you lot.

The internet isn't my priority in life, I do the things I need/ want to do before coming online.

It's not my priority either... but I do find it very easy to stay up thinking, oh I'll just reply to one more post...

if i didnt have internet or interference, i would be in a loveless marriage, have no friends outside of family, and miserable.

the internet has definitely changed my life in good ways and bad.

I have no idea how my life would be without the internet. I have been dependent on it for so many years. I am sure I would be okay if it were taken from me.

you know you couldnt live without your internet porn

I have no idea what I did before I found Interference. I seriously do not know what I did before I had the internet. :tsk:

My life would be a sad place if I never would have found Interference because I never would have met Kariann and Schmeg. I dont' know what I'd do if they weren't in my life. I certainly would not have travelled so much in the last year. I hope with the tour I'll get to met and hang out with even more people that I've met online.

 Same here. I've seen more of the country than I ever thought I would, and I sometimes can't believe the friendships I've made around here.

The internet replaces tv for me, too; my mom rolls her eyes at my computer time but she spends the same hours with Donald Trump, the Survivors, the Desparate Housewives...and then tells me all about it.

I'd probably be okay without the internet because I have some phone numbers so I'd keep up with people...but right now I'd rather not find out.

I'd get more sleep and I'd almost certainly get more work done (I'm self employed -- and have been slacking lately  ). I don't think the house would be much cleaner...I just don't care about it that much.

On the other hand, the intenet has introduced me to bands I would never have heard without it, reintroduced me to bands I had lost track of (ie, The Church  ), and met some really wonderful people (some I only know online, others I have gone on to meet in person). It's also made shopping for all sorts of stuff a whole LOT easier... not always a good thing.

no internet = me having no musical inclination whatsoever

i'd listen to the radio and buy the odd record or two

frightening, eh?

anyway, i use the computer a lot but really i think i could get by without it.

except my tutors want my assignments typed.

The internet has actually been a real connecting point for Colleen and I, despite the fact that we actually know and met each other in real life. We're just both really involved in fan communities, and it's a strange, but fairly strong bond

I would be a completely different person without the internet. Period. I don't think I'd be better at anything without it.
