any postal workers out there who can explain to me WHY WHY WHY i would be charged such OUTRAGEOUS sums of money to have my packages NOT be delivered in the amount of time i was TOLD they would be?

The same thing happens to me ALL THE TIME. I pay $20 to send a medium size padded envelope and then it takes 10 days to get there instead of the 4-6 it's supposed to.
