Don't take on responsibility for how Phil's aunt wants to celebrate your wedding. As you've already figured out, there are plenty of people who have ideas, ideas they want to see implimented, all in the name of honoring you.

She asked for a list of wedding invitees - just give them to her. If the party is too far, too late, too much, people can self regulate and not attend.

I know it can be a pain, but well intentioned family can really make a wedding a pain.

In Hobbiton, they usually invite the whole village.....with much celebration and dancing, and then the night sky is lit by a marvelous display of inventive fireworks.

You dont need to have a shower. They're rather unnecessay, and an annoying method of milking more presents out of people. They're also not for the bride to organise, so tell the aunt to do it however she likes if she insists on doing it. It's not your thing to be fussing over.

I agree, except she asked for addresses, which indirectly means I have to choose which ones to give her..... I guess I'll just give her all of them and if people don't want to come, they don't have to come.
